Grooming
To maintain the
beautiful, flowing coat of the Maltese, daily brushing is a good idea.
History
The first pictorial
representation of an obviously Maltese dog dates back to +300B.C. in
Egypt. Unlike the commonly held belief, it did not originate in Malta at
all.
Positives
Maltese are a lovely,
family dog, ideally suited to a wide range of lifestyles. They do not
shed, except when they obtain their adult coat.
Negatives
Maltese, as with
other toy dogs, are prone to teeth and gum problems, if not trained to
chew raw bones at an early age.
